Brentwood  Park  Ski  &  Snowboard  Centre considers safety a priority. We go to great lengths to reduce the risk of injury and accidents on our slopes so that you can relax and enjoy a fun ski  and  boarding  experience.  To this effect we implement the following two sets of rules - please observe them as they are for your own safety & well being.

- GENERAL RULES -

The F.I.S. (International Ski Federation) has established ten rules for the conduct of skiers and snowboarders. In short, these are :

1 RESPECT. Do not endanger others.
2 CONTROL. Adapt the manner and speed of your skiing to your ability and to the general conditions on the mountain/slope.
3 CHOICE OF ROUTE. The skier/snowboarder in front has priority - leave enough space.
4 OVERTAKING. Leave plenty of space when overtaking a slower skier/snowboarder.
5 ENTERING & STARTING. Look up and down the mountain/slop each time before starting or entering a marked run.
6 STOPPING. Only stop at the edge of the piste/slope or where you can easily be seen.
7 CLIMBING. When climbing up or down, always keep to the side of the piste/slope.
8 SIGNS. Obey all signs and markings - they are there for your safety.
9 ASSISTANCE. In case of accidents provide help and alert the rescue service.
10 IDENTIFICATION. All those involved in an accident, including witnesses, should exchange names and addresses.

PLEASE NOTE : ALL THE ABOVE RULES ARE BINDING IN LAW AND APPLY TO BOTH SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS.

There are four additional RESPONSIBILITIES that snowboarders should adhere to:

1 LEASH. The front leg must be firmly tethered to the board by a safety strap.
2 LOOK. It is essential to look left & right when changing direction, especially when starting a turn heel side - glance behind.
3 ABILITY. The ability to ski does not automatically mean the same ability to snowboard.
4 INSTRUCTION. Do not attempt the sport without qualified instruction.

** To ensure a quick response to any injury situation all of our instructors are qualified in First Aid.
